I went with Danny to Kranji Marsh today. Got 2 Oriental Honey-Buzzards circling.

Adult Brahminy Kite patrolling.

Little Terns hanging out on a buoy.

Blue-tailed Bee-eater hanging out with Golden-backed Weavers.

Other animals include this Sarika resplendens snail.

Marina East 01Jul23

Danny and I went to Marina East today. First time seeing a Long-tailed Macaque here. It hung out with the House Crows.

Smooth Otters were hanging out on the bund, while Little Terns were flying around the coast.

Malaysian Plover couple at the breakwater as usual.

Medium Egret and Purple Heron in the wet field.

Red-wattled Lapwing also in the field.

Labrador Nature Reserve 10Jun23

I went with Danny to Berlayer Creek today. Just some common birds, such as Olive-winged Bulbul and Pin-striped Tit-Babbler.

Nice to see an immature Black-naped Oriole.

Some Yellow-spotted Mudskipper in the creek.

Over at the coastal trail, some Little Terns in breeding plumage were doing airshow.

Rhynchium haemorrhoidale wasp nesting or hunting?

Marina East 28May23

Danny and I dropped by Marina East today. There were 11 Little Terns hanging out at the breakwater.

Medium Egret tackling food, probably swamp eel.

Little Egret showing its pretty yellow foot.

Purple Heron stretching its neck.

Eurasian Tree Sparrow caught a huge caterpillar and squeezing the green gooey stuff out before flying off with it.

Punggol, Serangoon Tidal Gates 15Jun18

Danny and I started the day's birding at Punggol End as Horsfield's Bronze-cuckoos were seen here recently. No luck.

Con, Danny, JS and I joined this pelagic organized by Seetoh and Francis.

A couple of Cattle Egrets accompanied us as we cleared customs off Sisters' Island.

The bird of the day - Arctic Skua.

It was terns galore. Here're some of them.

The pelagic won't be complete at this time of the year without Swinhoe's Storm-petrels.

A panting Oriental Honey-buzzard crossing the Strait to go further south.

Glad to end the day with a mixed pod of dolphins - Indo-Pacific Bottlenose and Indo-Pacific Humpback.

Went on the pelagic trip organised by Bird Group with Danny. It was a hot and sleepy trip.

Tuas, Halus 02Aug14

Danny and I were at Tuas in the morning and Halus in the afternoon.

We walked around the only patch in Tuas with some tall trees. Sure enough a pair of bronze-cuckoos were found, but they were Little Bronze-cuckoos, not Horsfield's...

Also present were their potential hosts - Golden-bellied Gerygones.

There were a pair of roosting Brahminy Kites and a Black-winged Kite.

Moving on to Tuas, Little Terns were nesting in the field, and a Black-winged Kite was chased away by the terns!

Also present were many Zitting Cisticolas, probably also nesting.

In the grassland was also a juvenile Plaintive Cuckoo.

After lunch at the usual Punggol foodcourt, we were off to Halus. Again, no Horsfield's...

There were many Golden-backed Weavers nesting over the Grebe Pond at the Tidal Gates side.

When we were about to leave, we saw a gathering of photographers at the buttonquail place, and sure enough a female Barred Buttonquail was present.
