Seletar Park Connector 24-26Mar26

From KH

The free-ranging Grey-crowned Crane was still around after all these years.

Asian Openbills resting, including one making itself comfy on the grass.

White-bellied Sea-Eagle nesting in albizia.

Asian Brown Flycatcher chirping away.

Variable Squirrel lingered on.

Unbelievably, I went through the Snake Year last year without seeing a single snake, and here, not one, but two snakes in a day! Paradise Tree Snake in Brackishwater Mangrove Barringtonia racemosa and an Equatorial Spitting Cobra slithering away on the grass before I could take a photo.

Migratory Tiger Shrike making itself comfy at the kingfisher pond.

Migratory adult male Japanese Sparrowhawk flew by.

Bidadari 07Sep24

From KH

Danny and I visited the newly opened Bidadari Park. Great to see that some of the old trails were kept. Only time will tell if it's still a magnet for migratory birds, such as flycatchers.

For now, juvenile Blue-throated Bee-eater on its high perch.

Behind it, Earpod Wattle, which is an acacia.

Scaly-breasted Munia family was having a breakfast buffet of grass seeds.

The Finalyson's Squirrels were still around, feeding on palm.

Dragonfly nymphs left their molt on the leaves. What plants are these?

Little Egrets: "Bro, any fish?" "Quiet! I'm focussing."

Clockwise from top left: Ashy Tailorbird caught a caterpillar. It was so jubilant that it fanned its tail! Tongue is involved! Final toss before gobbling it up.

Male Scarlet-backed Flowerpecker eating a fruit on the Calabur Tree.

Smooth Otter making a run.

Plantain Squirrel: I need my sugar. I need my sugar.

Mud Creeper Telescopium telescopium, the most common molluscs in the ponds. Barnacles in the foreground.
