I went to Petai Trail and got this Oriental Honey-Buzzard.

Also got Asian Softshell Turtle at its usual spot.


Next, Telok Blangah Hill Park for raptor watch.

3 migratory Oriental Honey-Buzzards.


Resident dark and pale Changeable Hawk-Eagles.


Resident adult Brahminy Kite.


Migratory Amur Paradise-Flycatcher and Barn Swallow.


Resident Dollarbirds and Dark-necked Tailorbird.

Dairy Farm 12Mar22

Danny and I went to Singapore Quarry and Rufous-bellied Eagle was still around on a bare albizia.


Dark-necked Tailorbirds having a conversation: "Come with me!" "No, go away!"


Broad-handed Carpenter Bee was sipping nectar on Bengal Trumpet and getting pollened in the process, with ants hiding behind.


African Tulip in full bloom.


Next, we went to the other corner of Dairy Farm Nature Park, Wallace Education Centre. Got the male Green-backed Flycatcher.


Grey Nightjar sleeping on a tree.


Indian Cuckoo filling itself with Malayan Eggfly caterpillars.


More food behind on the host plant False Stinger (Pipturus argenteus).


Were those your babies??


Male Orange-bellied Flowerpecker also feeding on false stinger.


Can't eat those figs!


Common Palmfly also around.


Four-lined Tree Frog and its egg foam.

Petai Trail 28Nov21

It's back to Petai Trail (am and pm) for the Pale-legged Leaf Warbler, but no luck.

Got Arctic Warbler.


Dark-necked Tailorbird - rufous cap coming down to eye level.


Five-banded Flying Lizard with inflatable neck pouch!


Here's a Large Snow Flat feeding on bird shit, and a fly inching forward!


Common Disc Oakblue with diagnostic white tonal spot and step pattern in hindwing spots 4-7.


Telephone Sylvan: who call me??


2 different species of blue leaf beetles of Tribe Luperini - one with whitish feeler tips (Hoplosaenidea singaporensis), one without (species unknown).


Termite.


Spider.

Chestnut Nature Park, Dairy Farm 01May18

Con, Danny and I started the day's birding at Chestnut Nature Park.

Long-tailed Parakeets were enjoying a feast: left adult male, right juvenile.


The Dark-necked Tailorbirds were bringing food back to someone. The male shows more extensive rufous on crown and face, and darker throat. The duller female has a spider in mouth.


Other denizens here include a snail and a millipede (Anoplodesmus saussurii).

Punggol Waterway Park 25Mar18

"Follow closely, ok?" said the White-breasted Waterhen to its chick.


The Long-tailed Shrike fledgling had started hunting for itself. Soon it'll moult the scaled feathers to attain the adult plumage.


Dark-necked Tailorbird - hard to see yellow vent here, but the rufous extension to below the eye is tell-tale.


The Sooty-headed Bulbuls let you get close.


Apparently this (disused?) nest had dropped off and someone put it up on a fork.
