This evening, I got to observe a rather interesting behaviour of a House Shrew.

Initially, it looked like it was wandering around, foraging for food.

Then, it started pulling vigorously at a strand of leaves from a tree!

As it wasn't strong enough to pull off the whole strand, it made do with a very small part of it.

Shrews are insectivores, so what was it doing with the leaves? Nesting material?

The highlight on the 18 Feb was this House Shrew.

It's not so common to see OHB here.

Yellow Bitterns are common though.

So are Striated Herons.
