Lim Chu Kang Lane 3, Neo Tiew Harvest Lane 14Jan23

Green Sandpiper was reported to be back at Lim Chu Kang Lane 3 canal, so it was mandatory for Danny and I to head there this weekend. But we only saw the usual Wood Sandpipers and Common Sandpipers. Here's one of the Woodies.


Eastern Yellow Wagtail was also here.


Some Javan Munias were feeding in the Cenchrus grass.


2 snipes in front of waterlilies.


After that, we went to Neo Tiew Harvest Lane, but nothing much. Makan time.

Neo Tiew 26Feb22

Danny and I started off at Turut Track today. 1 Watercock was still around.

At Harvest Lane, we got another Watercock, a couple of snipes and a Cinnamon Bittern.

Back on Turut Track, got a pond heron.

At Lim Chu Kang Lane 3, just 14 Wood Sandpipers.

Neo Tiew area 18Dec21

After Kranji Marsh in the morning and lunch, Danny and I went to Lim Chu Kang Lane 3.

Lots of Wood Sandpipers.


Nice to see a Grey Wagtail.


Other cast: Little Egret and White-breasted Waterhen.


Lots of grasshoppers in the grass: Javanese Grasshopper nymph and Short-winged Rice Grasshopper nymph.


Next up at Turut Track, we saw a family of Wild Pigs.


Last but not least, Neo Tiew Harvest Lane for the following birds.

Lim Chu Kang Lane 3 13Nov21

I Went to Lim Chu Kang Lane 3 hoping to see Green Sandpiper, but only got Wood Sandpipers and Common Sandpipers.


Of course White-breasted Waterhens were ever-present.


A Japanese Sparrowhawk came to look-see.

LCK3, SBWR, Tuas 02Oct21

Danny and I started the day's birding at Lim Chu Kang Lane 3.

No green sandpiper, but got Little Ringed Plover (left) hanging out with Wood Sandpiper, as well as Common Sandpiper.


Also Little Egret, Stork-billed Kingfisher and Eastern Yellow Wagtail.


The most interesting find was an Asian Swamp Eel that was out in the open.



Here's a Common Amberwing.


And the plants: Mile-a-minute and Napier Grass.


Next, we went to Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve. Got some more waders: Pacific Golden Plover, Tibetan Sand Plover, Whimbrel and Common Redshank.

We then met up with JS at Tuas. Got Oriental Honey-Buzzard and Japanese Sparrowhawk.

LCK3 25Sep21

From KH

I went to Lim Chu Kang Lane 3 and got the usual Wood Sandpipers.


Then out of nowhere, a pair of Grey-headed Fish-Eagles flew high overhead.


And 4 Lesser Adjutants were spotted thermalling high up.


There were also many grasshoppers around: Conocephalus longipennis


and Oxya japonica.


After LCK3, I went to old Sungei Buloh.

Neo Tiew 27Dec20

I started the day's birding at Lim Chu Kang Lane 3 still hoping for Green Sandpiper, but only got Wood Sandpipers.


Asian Openbill was still around and mingling with Intermediate Egret.


Javan Munias visited the canal for the grass seeds.


On the way out, saw an OHB perched on the tall tree.


At Neo Tiew Harvest Lane, saw another couple of OHBs, and this pale Changeable Hawk-Eagle.


Met up with Danny at Bollywood Veggies. Nothing much, just some insects and tadpoles.

Back at Harvest Lane, now also with Con, a Baillon's Crake showed.


Along the canal at Kranji Reservoir Park, there were many dragonflies.


Variegated Green Skimmer. Yellow-barred Flutterer


Spine-tufted Skimmer. Common Parasol and Common Scarlet

Common Mollies


And this Malayan Box Terrapin.


Finally, I went back to LCK3, but still no Green.
