Kranji Marsh 18Dec21

From KH

Danny and I went to Kranji Marsh today. On the way in along Neo Tiew Lane 2, a very confiding male Pink-necked Green-Pigeon was singing its heart out.

At the marsh, an Oriental Reed Warbler was also vocalizing. What a treat to be serenaded by our avian friends in the morning!

This Common Kingfisher was at a good vantage point scanning for breakfast.

Raptor Tower never fails to deliver. Here's an Osprey.

On the way out, a Black-naped Oriole perched nicely for us.

While this Banded Woodpecker was shyer.

Other denizens here: lynx spider Oxyopes sp.

Some grasshoppers Spathosternum prasiniferum

A pretty leaf beetle on what else but a leaf. A fly on what else but a pile of shit!

Asian Taro (left) and Giant Taro in comparison. The latter lacks the webbing where the leaf meet the stem, unlike Asian Taro.
