Some of the migrants included this very vocal Brown Shrike, sometimes in cattail, sometimes in Alligator Flag.

And this Asian Brown Flycatcher.

Raptor-wise, only this Oriental Honey-Buzzard.

Resident-wise, Purple Heron trying to blend in with the grass.

Yellow-bellied Prinia not hiding in the reeds.

Female Common Flameback and adult Asian Glossy Starling sharing African Oil Palm fruit.

Changi 03Aug24

From KH

Our birding trip today was supposed to be Changi Bay Point, but the highlight for both Danny and I was at Carpark 7.

A fruiting tropical chestnut Sterculia attracted female Asian Koel, Common Flamebacks, Rose-ringed Parakeet, Asian Glossy Starlings, Javan Mynas, Zebra Dove and even an Oriental House Rat!

Zebra Doves also came to the party

The bird (and rat) magnet - tropical chestnut

At Changi Bay Point, we only got the usual birds, so I didn't even fire a shot! Should have wrapped it up after Carpark 7, lol.

Seletar Dam, Hampstead Wetland 12Mar23

From KH

It was low tide, so Danny and I went to Seletar Dam. Wader-wise, there were only 1 Tibetan Sand-Plover, 1 Common Greenshank and 1 Common Sandpiper. Here's the plover.

Next, Hampstead Wetland. The most interesting sighting here was a pair Common Flamebacks both partaking in nest-building.

Male: "Last pile!" "I huff and I puff!"

Male: "Honey, our BTO is ready!". Female: "Let me inspect. What is this??"

Some other birds:

Arctic Warbler

Oriental Honey-Buzzard

Changi Business Park, Telok Blangah 23Jul22

From KH

Danny and I went to Changi Business Park today, but it was rather quiet, except this pair of Common Flamebacks came for photoshoot.

Luckily there were these fishes to entertain us.

Pasir Ris Park 26Sep21

From KH

It was a good day at Pasir Ris Park for the Crested Goshawk pair. They were mating and rebuilding last session's nest.

Other birds include this female Common Flameback and this Spotted Dove.

In the river were these Singapore Glassy Perchlets and this jellyfish.

On the mud mounds, there were many All-pink Fingered Vinegar Crabs.

And on the tree trunks, this Blinking Snail and these Red Chut-chuts.

Round it all up with some grasshoppers: Short-winged Rice Grasshopper

and Rufous-legged Grasshopper.
