From DannyI was with a group of photographers this morning including Chris, Mountainman, Mark Chua and Sree looking for the Hawk Cuckoo at the former Adventure Centre next to the nursery car park when Sree spotted this flycatcher. Harry's wife, Kim, thought it was Ferruginous. Ultimately looking at the pics, obviously it was a Ferruginous - a very friendly flycatcher for photographers.
Chris had spotted the said immature Hodgson's HC last week flying and perching low (eye level but fence level too). He was confident the cuckoo would turn up between 10 to 10.30 am. True enough around 10.20 am, I spotted the Cuckoo near the fence corner furthest from the car park. The two pics were taken at that spot. Over the next 5 to 6 min it flew from tree to tree at eye level perch.
Con was there the next day and he got the adult Hodgson's Hawk-cuckoo.
