Changi 1Sep07

We went to Changi Cove today. We entered via the Naval Base side as the usual entrance was blocked by huge boulders. The highlights:
  • A cute Malaysian plover chick that was close to fledging. This fluffy chick hid itself well in the grass, while the parents took turn to be sentry.
  • A goliath great crested tern amidst all the little terns.
  • A flock of 6 red-wattled lapwings hiding in the tall grass area, flying off as soon as they detected us.
  • Possibly a pair of Pallas's grasshopper warblers.
