Jurong Lake 28Jun26

From KH

Danny and I went to Jurong Lake today. Breeding season was in full swing this time of the year.

Coppersmith Barbet junior was very hungry, perching at the edge of the tree hole.

So was Oriental Magpie-Robin junior, calling to daddy.

Black-naped Oriole junior was also begging for food.

Pied Triller male was just chilling out in tree with Dragon-Scale Fern.

Purple Heron junior also chilling out.

Usually loud, Red-wattled Lapwing was quiet today.

5 Asian Openbills were thermalling. Don't go, please. You are welcome to breed here!

The surprise find today was a pair of Chestnut Munias collecting nesting material for their nest in Purple Fountain Grass. One bird was observed passing the material to its mate in the nest.

Asian Honey Bees were nesting in Thatch Screwpine.

Jumping spider Banded Phintella walking instead of jumping.
