SBWR 05-06Feb11
From Con

5 Feb

I went to Sungei Buloh this morning. Pretty quiet, just the usual Greenshanks, Redshanks, Marsh Sandpipers, Whimbrels and Little Egrets. No plovers at all, or any other interesting waders. I did see a Crocodile, an Osprey and a Grey-headed Fish-eagle. Otherwise the weather was sunny and pleasant, with quite a few visitors to the park.

I went to SBWR yesterday alone, and today with Yamane. One large crocodile was trapped in the pond on the left side of the Main Hide as he swam in when the gates were open, now they are closed. Probably SBWR will open the gates in a day or two and the croc can swim out.

Both days the only waders were in the pond on the left of the main hide, but nothing interesting. The highlights of yesterday was a GHFE and an Osprey. Today, the only raptor seen was a juvenile WBSE.

The highlight for today was a Mangrove Pit Viper dosing in he shade near Screen 1.12
