Marina South, Mt Faber 06Apr08
From Danny
Found this road kill (Black Cobra) at Marina South outside Car Park B. Initially thought it spilled its guts but closer look revealed something like an undigested frog or some kind of prey. Estimated length about 5 ft.
On 6th April, I was at Mt. Faber off the valley (end near Danish Church) opposite cp "C" when I spotted an OHB perched on a tall bare tree, when I left to drive over to the top it was still there (no camera). About 15 mins later when I was back, it was around at mid canopy nearer to the car park. Went back to car to get my scope, set up and as I about to take a shot it flew off. Lost it but was alerted by two screaming, scrambling GRT Drongoes. Then the OHB appeared on top canopy of a lower tree (low relative to my pt. of view), it was sitting on a sort of nest - puzzled turned to excitement as it dug deep into the nest and came out with an egg. Before I could snap a shot it flew off low, followed by the screaming drongoes. Next time when encounter with mobbing by smaller birds, U never know who's the villain.
Then the SC Cockatoo turned up right on time and what else but screamed. Too bad still alone.
