Halus, Sungei Serangoon 09Aug08

I was birding in the general Serangoon area on National Day. Nothing much, the usual bird.
  • 2 adult and 2 juvenile grebes are still at the Grebe Pond
  • 1 moorhen at the Moorhen Pond
  • 2 Sooty-headed Bulbuls at Halus
  • 10 BCNH feeding in Sg Serangoon canal during my evening run

Also had fun shooting swiftlets. Could the 2 below be black-nest and edible-nest, respectively? EN is supposed to have a more forked tail, while BN is supposed to have a more squarish tail... BN is also supposed to be longer-winged and has a more robust body...

Edible-nest Swiftlet on left and Black-nest Swiftlet on right?
