BTNR, Singapore Quarry, Tuas 12Mar11

From KH

Glad to nail the female White-throated Rock-thrush, but pity the male is gone.

The other highlight at BTNR was a pair of Black-crested Bulbuls. 1 CHE was calling.

And this large Clouded Monitor was sunning itself at Hindhede Nature Park:

Next at Singapore Quarry, there were 4 WBSE, 2 CHE (1 pale, 1 dark), 1 OHB and 1 pair of mating Dollarbirds. No grebes!

The pretty butterfly at Singapore Quarry is a Five Bar Swallowtail:

At Tuas previous motorcross area, we almost got stuck! Nothing much here except 1 BWK, 1 confiding female Pied Triller and 3 munias spp. (Black-headed, White-headed and Scaly-breasted).

At the Brewery side, there are now many freshwater puddles.

1) Lots of snipes (Common and Pintail/Swinhoe's)
2) 3 bitterns spp. (Schrenck's, Cinnamon, Yellow)
3) Savanna Nightjars with eggs
4) Plaintive Cuckoo (1 pair)
5) Little Bronze Cuckoo (1 male)
6) Red-wattled Lapwings
