Final try at Mount Faber this autumn migration season with Danny. JS joined later and has his own list. Vastly different from yesterday's dismal count.

Raptor watch at Mount Faber, but only 1 migrant, a Black Baza, silhouette shot.

Back to Sungei Buloh. Saw this Milky × Painted Stork, almost a Milky Stork, but black covert spots, feeding on a water snake.

Another hybrid stork, almost a Painted Stork, but incomplete breast band.

A Medium Egret among Little Egrets, masquerading as the latter, but note size, bill length and feet colour differences. Looks like it's still molting out of breeding plumage.

The same individual with its typical non-breeding yellow-billed version. Little Egrets in front and Common Redshanks behind.

Sungei Buloh, Jurong Lake 14Nov24

I went to Sungei Buloh and saw this Common Water Monitor literally digging into a fish head, yumz.

Soon, news broke of not 1, but 2, Tufted Ducks at Jurong Lake!

Some action shot. I'm faster than you!

I'll fly off before you can catch me. Luckily, Danny made it in time before the couple flew off.

Nice to have Sea Hibiscus as backdrop.

I went to Sungei Buloh this morning. Glad to get 2 Ospreys in a frame.

I went to Petai Trail late morning, but just the usual birds. Here's an unusual caterpillar.

After lunch, went to Sengkang Riverside Park. Again, just the usual birds.

Danny and I went raptor watching at Mount Faber today. Got 5 Black Bazas.

25 Oriental Honey-Buzzards. Here're 7 of them part of a flock of 12. Some are above the clouds.

8 Japanese Sparrowhawks. Here's a juvenile.

Just 1 Chinese Sparrowhawk, a juvenile.

Resident juvenile Crested Goshawk.

Spider watching when there were no raptors. Carrhotus viduus.

Join the other raptor watchers at Mount Faber today. Got 40 Oriental Honey-Buzzards.

8 Black Bazas. Here're 3 of them.

3 Japanese Sparrowhawks. Here's an adult male.

Resident pale Changeable Hawk-Eagle.

Leading Singapore Raptor Watch at Lorong Halus today.

Total 22 Black Bazas. Here're a couple from a kettle of 9 late morning.

Here's a kettle of 10 in the afternoon.

2 of total 11 Oriental Honey-Buzzards.

Other than that, just the residents, like these adult Brahminy Kites.

And this adult White-bellied Sea-Eagle high up.

Great to record a flock of 8 migrating Oriental Pratincoles.

Only 1 Pacific Swift recorded.

Blue-tailed Bee-eater flew in front of Casuarina Trees.

Rose-ringed Parakeets with Earpod Wattle (back), Sea Almond (middle) and White Leadtree (front).

Male Oriental Pied-Hornbill fly-by.

Grey Herons flanking white egret sp. (Egretta/Ardea sp.), which are too faraway to ID, but fortunately ebird has this option.

A couple of Smooth Otters having a swim.

Rain came at about 2pm. Time to pack up.
