Danny and I went raptor watching at Mount Faber today. Got 5 Black Bazas.

25 Oriental Honey-Buzzards. Here're 7 of them part of a flock of 12. Some are above the clouds.

8 Japanese Sparrowhawks. Here's a juvenile.

Just 1 Chinese Sparrowhawk, a juvenile.

Resident juvenile Crested Goshawk.

Spider watching when there were no raptors. Carrhotus viduus.

Join the other raptor watchers at Mount Faber today. Got 40 Oriental Honey-Buzzards.

8 Black Bazas. Here're 3 of them.

3 Japanese Sparrowhawks. Here's an adult male.

Resident pale Changeable Hawk-Eagle.

Leading Singapore Raptor Watch at Lorong Halus today.

Total 22 Black Bazas. Here're a couple from a kettle of 9 late morning.

Here's a kettle of 10 in the afternoon.

2 of total 11 Oriental Honey-Buzzards.

Other than that, just the residents, like these adult Brahminy Kites.

And this adult White-bellied Sea-Eagle high up.

Great to record a flock of 8 migrating Oriental Pratincoles.

Only 1 Pacific Swift recorded.

Blue-tailed Bee-eater flew in front of Casuarina Trees.

Rose-ringed Parakeets with Earpod Wattle (back), Sea Almond (middle) and White Leadtree (front).

Male Oriental Pied-Hornbill fly-by.

Grey Herons flanking white egret sp. (Egretta/Ardea sp.), which are too faraway to ID, but fortunately ebird has this option.

A couple of Smooth Otters having a swim.

Rain came at about 2pm. Time to pack up.

Sungei Buloh 01Nov24

I went to Sungei Buloh today. Nice to see a Terek Sandpiper among 74 Common Redshanks. Locate it at the centre in the first photo and on the left in the next photo.

The Eurasian Whimbrels were a bit flighty today.

3 of 6 Pacific Golden Plovers staying still during the whimbrel airshow.

Juvenile White-bellied Sea-Eagle, perhaps the reason for the whimbrel airshow.

Collared Kingfisher just looked on nonchalantly.

Black-crowned Night-Heron, juveniles and subadult.

When there are no birds, other animals kept us busy. This Flat-tailed Gecko was eyeing the Longhorn Crazy Ants carrying a dead Myrma spiny ant.
