Seletar Dam, Seletar East, Halus 26Aug17

From KH
Con, Danny and I started the day at Seletar Dam. There were many waders, but mostly far away. They were Whimbrels, Common Greenshanks, Lesser Sand-plovers and Common Sandpipers. Then, a Changeable Hawk-eagle swooped past. Soon, we were joined by Low CH. One of the two Ospreys put on quite a show dangling a big fish high up on a tree. It was nice to see a Great-billed Heron here too.

With nothing much else happening here, we decided to adjourn to Seletar East woodlands.

A Dollarbird was looking down on us.

Scaly-breasted Munias were still building nest.

Once again nothing much else was happening here, so we decided to head for Halus. It was great to see the Little Grebes got another brood.

The Baya Weavers seemed to coexist very well with the introduced Golden-backed Weaver (lower right nest).

Finally, we had a Collared Kingfisher to round up the day's birding.
