West Coast, KJE 06Jan08
From Danny
Sunday morning, dropped by West Coast Park and seen a Moorhen in the pond (where Lesser Whistling Ducks gathered) from the lookout - a good location for photographers to try low flying shots as I seen it flew low across the pond.
In the evening, went to a newly paved road off KJE that eventually lead to the back gate of a red-man camp. In a fence-up compound of about 3 soccer fields, saw 2 Lapwings and 2 Sand Martins flying low across the open ground and over head - lifer tick. Yet to explore side trail which I think will lead to a trail running along BKE. Many active local birds around preparing for breeding - saw a pair of Banded and Golden-backed Woodpeckers checking out tree holes. No sign of vulture but a female OHB that turned her back on me and pooh!
