Pasir Ris Park, Halus, Punggol 24May08

We started the day at Pasir Ris Park and saw Black-crowned Night-herons, both adults and juveniles in the river. Then, we proceeded to the Mangrove Walk, but did not see anything particularly interesting except for Asian Palmswifts and Olive-winged Bulbuls. Did not expect the bulbuls to be found here.

Went to Halus to check out the Little Grebes and sure enough the family of 4 - 2 adults, 2 chicks - were there. ©Danny Lau

The Moorhen is back in the Moorhen Pond. Also present were a few Red-whiskered Bulbuls.

This was the first time we saw Lesser Whistling Ducks at Halus. 4 Lesser Whistling-ducks and Grey Heron. ©Danny Lau

Final stop for today's birding trip was at Punggol Grassland. The only surprising find here was a Black-naped Tern flying over the water between Coney Island and mainland Singapore.
