Japan 23Sep, 5Oct08

From Yamane on 5Oct

I went to Rapor Watch at Miura Peninsula last Sunday. But the peak of the place seems to be finished. :-( No Gray-faced Buzzard-Eagle, and no Eastern Honey Buzzard. :-(

The record of the day is as follows:
(1) Black Kite
(2) Eurasian Hobby
(3) Chinese Bamboo Partridge
(4) Northern White-rumped Swift
(5) Barn Swallow
(6) Brown-eared Bulbul
(7) Bull-headed Shrike
(8) Tree Sparrow
(9) Large-billed Crow

Yamane also reported this on 23Sep

Already THE SEASON was started. In Kyushu Island, around 10th SEP many Chinese Gashawks were passed from Korea to Shanghai. From 3,000 to 10,000 Cinese Gashawks per day. Around my place, Grey-faced Buzzard-eagles don't pass here yet. Maybe next weekend or next next weekend is the best timing. :-) Also almost OHB don't pass here yet. I heard around 200 OHBs moved from Hokkaido to Aomori on 21th SEP.

I try to see them in this coming weekend. :-) You can check the status by the website. But almost written in Japanese. :-)
