From Con
There was some construction equipment at the Rocky Beach. Don't know what they are doing.
First we headed to the Eastern most point of mainland Singapore Not much there except a pair of Malaysian Plovers.
However a construction boss drove up with his truck and told us we are not allowed to be there and must leave. Subaraj replied that we are with NParks doing a survey of marine birds and the construction boss said okay!!
Didn't find the LHC but found 3 Chestnut winged Cuckoos and lots of waders. Greater and Lesser Sand, Grey Plover, Red necked Stint, Malaysian Plover, Kentish, White faced and Ruddy Turnstone. The Black Kite was around. Didn't see any Jerdon's or harriers. The cove has changed a lot. Much more over grown and fewer drivable tracks. Even the sand pit has small Casuarina trees growing on it now.
Finally left around 1 pm. Nice to be back in the Cove! I hope Subaraj will publish the count. Pretty good numbers. We were very careful and never flushed the waders !
