Mt Faber, Telok Blangah 26Nov22
From KH
Final raptor watch this season, but this time at Mount Faber. Before Danny came, only local raptors, like this adult Brahminy Kite.
After Danny reached, we went to the hill peak and got some Oriental Honey-Buzzards. Here's a juvenile.
Only 1 Japanese Sparrowhawk, juvenile.
Some more Brahminy Kites. This one a juvenile.
Lunchtime! While lunching, news of Zappey's Flycatcher and Mugimaki Flycatchers at Telok Blangah came.
Adult male Zappey's Flycatcher showing front and side views.
There were also an immature male and a female Blue-and-white/Zappey's Flycatchers (Cyanoptila sp.). Here's the immature male hanging out with a juvenile Asian Glossy Starling.
Mugimaki Flycatchers: male and first winter male.
This is the fig tree that the flycatchers were in, no doubt attracted to the insects drawn in by the fruits.
Here's a photo of the palm trees in the background.
