Halus, SBG, PRP 01Dec19

From KH

Today was full of excitement for the local birding community with two megas in Singapore.

I was enjoying an idyllic late morning at Lorong Halus, with this adult White-bellied Sea-eagle cruising overhead.

And these fishes.

Then, news of a Taiga Flycatcher at Eco Lake came in. Apparently, it was first seen yesterday.

It seemed to like the Simpoh Air patch.

While waiting for the flycatcher, Yeo Seng Beng showed us a photo of a tit he found at Pasir Ris Park yesterday. It turned out to be a Japanese Tit due to the olive mantle. The Tuas tit a month ago, also turned out to be Japanese Tit, rather than a Cinereous Tit.

Con, Danny and JS also managed to tick off the Taiga Flycatcher, but they missed the tit.

Danny went back to Pasir Ris Park on 3 Dec and he went back a happy man as you can see from his comments: "Took many record shots of the Tit. The best session was it joined a bird wave for more than half hour at the other end of the track near the PA canteen."
