SBWR 25Sep21

From KH

After LCK3, I went to old Sungei Buloh and when I reached the carpark, a female Oriental Pied-Hornbill had caught a male Brown-throated Sunbird! Throughout the 10 mins or so observation, the hornbill was seen rubbing the sunbird against branches. At the end of the observation, the sunbird was almost unrecognizable..

Buffy Fish-Owl was as its usual spot.

Among the waders and other waterbirds were this Common Redshank feeding on a crab and this Little Egret.

Lesser Short-nosed Fruit Bats also at their usual spot.

A Mangrove Viper watched intently by a juvenile Common Water Monitor, but no drama.

Mangrove Viper with a Black Chut-chut in company.

Another mollusc - a Lined Nerite.

Asian Common Toad. Mayan Cichlid.

Golden Web Spider

It was insects galore:

Grasshopper Traulia azureipennis. Grey Pansy

Cotton stainer bug Dysdercus decussatus. Common Flangetail

Bembecinus - not bees, but sand wasps.
